BLOCKING
What is meant by the blocking is the position of the body at the moment on stage. In game play, good blocking is necessary, therefore, at the time playing we should always control our bodies so as not to damage the blocking. What is meant by good blocking is blocking must be balanced, whole, variable and has a focal point as well as reasonable.
- Balance
Balanced means that the position of the player, as well as objects that exist on the stage (the setting) are not clustered in one place, resulting in the appearance of bias. So all parts of the stage should be represented by players or objects on the stage. Further explanation of the balance of this stage will be presented in the section on "Composition Stage".
- Intact
Intact means blocking the display should be a unity. All placement and motion to do should support each other and do not overlap.
- varies
Varies means that the position of the player is not in one place only, but to form new compositions so that the audience is not saturated. The state of a player is not the same as the position of other players. For example, both standing, squatting together, facing the same direction, and so on. Unless it is required by the script.
- Having a central point
Having a central point means that each performance must have a focal point. It is important to strengthen the role of play and facilitate the audience to see the actual point where the center of the ongoing scene. Among the players also do not disrupt each other so that would obscure the true location of the point where attention.
- Naturally
Naturally that means every player placement or objects should appear natural, not contrived. Besides, any placement must also have the motivation and need reasonable.
In contemporary drama script sometimes does not demand perfect blocking, sometimes also the director or the script itself completely abandoned the principles of blocking. There is also a script that calls for uniform motions among the players.
- STAGE COMPOSITION
The composition according to the stage is the division performing certain parts. The composition was created to help stage blocking, where each part has its own meaning stage. Here's the schematic stage composition.
- SPECTATORS
Levels of the power stage can be seen in the sequence number. The front is stronger than the rear. The right side is stronger than the left. Therefore do not put themselves or objects of high strength levels in the solid. Look for places that match in order blocking a balanced look. Nevertheless, should remain within reasonable limits, not too far-fetched.
